TEXT FOR READING.
MOUNT RUSHMORE
There are many ways to
honour famous people. In America there is a mountain which attracts many
people.
Mount Rushmore is an
interesting place to visit. It is in South Dakota, USA. It’s a granite (ãðàíèò)
mountain. Four faces are carved (âûñå÷åíû) on the
mountain. They are the faces of four famous presidents. The presidents are
Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson and Roosevelt. The faces are sixty feet high
(â âûñîòó). Many people come to visit this place
every year. There is a large and interesting view (âèä)
from Mount Rushmore.
In Britain new banknotes
have been introduced. The Queen is still on one side. Now, the other
side of the new £ 10 and £ 20 notes show Charles Dickens and Michael
Faraday.
